I think imagination is wonderful and that technology has the capacity to address many of the world’s woes. I can’t blame people who create this stuff. It’s amazing and overwhelming. I do wonder where parents have gone and why they don’t have a greater influence in the lives of their children.
My grandchildren are heavily involved in a video game called “World of Warcraft”. They eat and breathe it, spending almost every waking minute involved. I watch them become frustrated with not being able to get past a certain point in the game. They want the problem “fixed” so they have asked me to buy them something called a WOW leveling guide.
I used to be excited about visiting with them and vice versa. Now…..it isn’t that way. Now, it feels as though I am the money bag !
Most truth is found in the “middle ground”. There are no easy answers. It is difficult to raise a new generation of humanity and do it well. I do know that leaving our children to be raised by “games” is not a smart move.
I wonder what others might be feeling about this. Perhaps there is a creative way to deal with this concern. I am open to suggestions.
