So I reached down to check and tighten the hose where it attached to the base of the pump. I figured it was threaded on, and I intended to give it a nice easy twist (it’s a plastic connection so I didn’t want to put too much torque on it). But as soon as I touched it, POW! the hose blew off at the connection. The plastic threads were all stripped, of course. Amazon has that great return policy, so I had a replacement the next day. It feels a little more sturdy and operates more smoothly, like the internal parts are fit better, and so far it’s working fine. I plan to handle it with a bit of care to get a lot of use out of it.
