Research grants are provided by apex academic bodies or bodies of authority to universities and other institutes of higher learning to enable them to carry out research in various fields and benefit the community. The research papers have to be original and the knowledge has to be authoritative. The purpose of some of the Student Research Grants given out are that the research papers do not necessarily have to be a research paper or dissertation paper but the majority give out grants only if the papers are research papers or dissertation papers.
