Mormon doctrine states that the Bible is the word of God as long as it is translated correctly. Mormons use the King James Version of the Bible. Mormon doctrine follows as written in Genesis, that Jesus Christ created the earth by the power of God, and placed Adam, then Eve, in the Garden of Eden. After the transgression of Adam and Eve, they were cast out of the Garden of Eden. Adam was taught the plan of salvation or plan of happiness by an angel of the Lord and then he taught it to his children. This begins the patriarchal succession of the prophets as recorded in the Old Testament.
