I wanted to get some information on my parents and grandparents and thought for sure I knew even basic facts about them. I thought that because we had lived in Nebraska all of my life, that they had all of theirs. I never really thought that maybe they had lived else where, at least not my own parents. I tried looking for Nebraska Vital Records on them, basically their birth records. I contacted the county office, told them who I was looking for, and paid the fee. They couldn’t find my grandparents at all. I was surprised that they charged me even when they couldn’t find what I wanted.
