You may not be able to afford solid gold cufflinks but you probably can afford gold plated cufflinks. You can get these plated in white or yellow or even pink gold. Whichever suits your fancy best, just know that they are well below the prices of solid ones.
The thing to remember is that as long as they cufflinks are gold plated they look virtually identical to any solid gold ones. I mean, the gold is on the outside not the inside, so no worries. This way you get the same classic style without having to pay the same classically high price. Win win I think. I always want to spend less than I have to so this is what I do.
