I was reading the newspaper the other day and there was an article about this woman who had been caught using other people’s social security numbers and she was ruining their credit. That made me start looking up ways to avoid identity theft. It can happen to anyone and I try to be aware of my surroundings at all times when I use my debit or credit cards. I shred any papers that has information about me on them and I check my credit report regularly. I have told my friends and family to do the same because this does happen all the time.
