I have several friends that play a number of muscial insturments. I play both the guitar and the drums. I play drums far better than I do guitar, but I still enjoy the guitar. My friends and I get together frequently to jam and have a great time. One of my friends that plays awesome solos has been trying to get me to play scales. While I wanted to learn, I was having a terrible time learning. I went home one night and started looking online for help. I started taking some lessons that night and am now playing scales on guitar.
