There are a number of different cemetery markers in my home town of Buffalo, New York. The first are the house type, you can actually go in and sit down to visit with your loved ones. Second, is the pillar or standing slab type. They just have the person’s name, date of birth/death and possibly some loving words. Third, is the flat stone which is not a standing type. They have the same information as the pillar type described in "second". Lastly, is no marker, which are common in this area. You need to go and obtain a sort of map of the cemetery which has certain landmarks that you follow to get the your loved one’s place of rest. Thank you!
