In a class, there will be those kids who have been “left behind” when it comes to basic arithmetic concepts – some would have a hard time dealing with the basic math operations, others on picturing out the fractions, and even others couldn’t really grasp the concept behind measuring polygons, etc. Well, the problem that usually arises from such instance is when you take valuable a fraction of your class time to teach basic elementary Math games skills to these “special” few, putting at stake the progress of the rest of your students. On the other hand, if you don’t give special attention to these kids who are having a hard time grasping math, they will struggle the whole year and inevitably – lose their interest in the subject in the long run (which any teacher wouldn’t want to happen). One way to encourage them to practice in a fun, competitive way without detracting from the overall class is to allow them to play math game softwares – at a regular interval, of course. In this way, students who need to reinforce skills can get extra math practice and students already at grade level can start homework or be challenged at a higher level all on their free time.
