It’s ironic that the majority of us don’t become motivated to perform selfless acts until after we have been personally affected ourselves. For example, the concerned mother gives speeches across the country imploring people not to drink and drive usually after losing a child to a drunk driver, not before. By the same token, green energy only really became a hot topic with the majority of Americans after, not before, four-dollar-a-gallon gas put a strain on our wallets. We shouldn’t feel too guilty, though, as this is the natural course of things. Let’s just look at it as a win-win situation that going green saves green in our wallets as well as it saves the environment.
