I buy used cell phones all the time. My cell phone never seems to last as long as my contract, which means that I would have to pay regular retail price for a phone, and that is entirely too expensive. I only buy unlocked cell phones though. When I buy a used cell phone, I always ask if the phone is unlocked. If it is not, I do not buy it, because unlocked cell phones cannot be activated. There is no since in buying a cell phone that cannot be activated on my plan or used to make or receive phone calls or text messages. That would be a waste of money.
