Last week my car started to make funny noises as I was driving around. I had no idea what they could be, and stupidly hoped that they might go away. I had no such luck, as yesterday when I went out to my car, the thing would not start. I had bought break down cover when I renewed my motor insurance, but when I rang them they told me that the cover did not include home starts. This means that if I had broken down on the side of the road they would have come and got me but because I had broken down outside my house they would not help. In the end I had to call out a private mechanic, who came to help, and he managed to get it started again but it cost me a fortune. I spoke to a couple of my friends who said that their insurance policies included breakdown with home start cover, so when it comes to renew next year I am definitely choosing this option.
