The amount of due diligence required to do a long distance auto purchase is very similar to buying a used car locally. In both cases, the buyer needs to hire a mechanic to inspect the car thoroughly, although many local used car buyers don’t bother with this important step. The only people who can get away with not hiring a mechanic are those with the skills to inspect and repair autos for a living. The only real difference with buying a used car from far away is the one way plane ticket and the long drive home with the used car.
